Current methods of meat production are unsustainable and untenable in the near future. Presently, 50 billion animals are harvested each year for human consumption. This number is set to double in by 2050 as global demand for meat increases.
One of the most resource intensive meat is beef.
It takes between 440- 2000 pounds of water and about 35 pounds of grain to yield one pound of beef.
Appleton Meats hopes to address these issues by focusing on ground beef production. Our method of clean meat should reduce the resource demand for this popular meat.
